No cause for complacency
The debate is fairly simple actually – it’s about getting air as clean as it can possibly be – minimising our negative impact on the environment as much as we possibly can.
There’s little to be gained from congratulating ourselves on a decrease in pollution – it’s an excuse to feel complacent in the face of what remains a severely troubling situation. The media hysteria is interesting, but it shouldn’t divert us from the fundamental point that we could do much more to keep clean.
It’s not just little children I’m worried about, it’s delicate animals, plants and ecosystems.
