The killing of Henry Nowak has exposed a deep injustice. As the teenager lay dying on the floor from stab wounds, the police handcuffed him, seemingly because his attacker had accused Nowak of racism. This has reignited a debate about so-called two-tier policing, and fuelled concerns that official ‘anti-racism’, some would even say ‘anti-white’ prejudice, is corroding equality before the law. Is justice no longer blind?
